Mick's Book

Mick is a special mate and was my driver for an overland I did through South America. He and 3 of his mates rode motorbikes from London to Vladivostok and raised alot of money. This is the story of that ride. Click on the picture for more info. |
Mick's Book
In July of 2004 I embarked on a three month overland across the South American continent. Mick was my driver. Mick not only enjoys driving trucks but loves hitting the open road on his motorbike. His passion lead him to completing (with 3 of his mates) a motorbike ride from London to Vladivostok. He completed this for our charity and raised over $20,000 dollars
Mick has written a book about his adventures and it is a very entertaining read. A percentage of the profits from each book goes to FAN. So buy a copy! The book is $20.00. Go to the secure Donations page, contribute $20 and then drop me an email through the contacts page with your address and I will arrange a copy to be sent to you.
If you still need convincing have a look at the book details below;
"Everyone wants to be happy. Psychologists tell us that alturism brings the greatest joy. This opinion was unknown to Mick McDonald when he packed in his job as a truck driver and rounded up three of his companions to complete the ride of their lives. They set off on their amazing journey halfway around the world to benefit those with a debilitating genetic disorder. It takes a rare person with a certain amount of courage, drive, and a bit of recklessness to complete a journey like this without the assistance of a large organisation or even a support vehicle.
The journey is exhilerating and the outcome spectacular...."
